Day 9 - 19/03
Oh remember this day because of my outfit. I wore a few trends together, such as ruffles and floral embroidery. With that cute look I visited one of my favourite parks in the world, Bryant Park, located on 42nd street and 6th Ave, right beside the New York Public Library. For the "Sex and the City" fans, they shot here a few times, including for the movie where Big and Carrie fight after their attempt to get married... We did a bit of walking and spent our evening in my favourite spot of the Upper West Side, Columbus Circle. It's a quiet place with a fantastic view you must visit if you go to the big apple.
Day 10 - 20/03
This day we headed south, to one of the newest areas of the city. Between Tribecca and the Financial District you will find the One World Trade Center, the newest and highest skyscraper in America. To get there, you need to tale the subway and get down at the also new Trade Center station designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. Make sure you take a picture from the inside and the outside. The 9/11 memorial is a place we should all visit but be respectful.
Day 11 - 22/03
Washington Square Park kind of day. A frequent landmark from movie and series (it was used in Friends quite a lot) that I could whiteness. Yes, I saw how they filmed a TV show! I had no idea they would be shooting there, but in New York you should expect the unexpected. The show is called "Bull", so if you see me there, it was me! This area is pretty nice nowadays as it's the neighbourhood of NYU, so it's normal to see students walking around. We continued our day in SoHo, my favourite fashion destination where I did a little shopping (cough, the shorts, cough, from RosieHWxPaige, cough, see my previous post ). We also had a fantastic vegan meal at By Chloe, where I tried their avocado toast with sweet potatoes fries and it was DELICIOUS.
Day 12 - 23/03
The windiest day ever!!! It was so cold, maybe even worse than during the snow storm. But we went out all the same. We walked around 5th Avenue, where I recommend you pay a visit to the HM store on 5th and 48 street with an amazing view. Also, did I mention I bought my top at Target? Yes, at a supermarket! It's from the Who What Wear collection designed for Target Style, super affordable and elegant. At night we went to Broadway again. This time we saw "Sunday in the Park with George", a musical that tells the story of painter George Seurat during the time he did "A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte". We saw the painting at the Art Institute of Chicago a few weeks ago, what helped me understand the story more. What I liked the most about the show was how intellectual it was. It was so different to everything I've seen before as it was half comedy, half musical. Oh, and casually, the main role is portrayed by Jake Gyllenhaal.
