Mother + Miranda

Recently I´ve been showing you a lot of collaborations between models and brands. Mother + Miranda is a 12 pieces capsule collection designed by Miranda Kerr and Mother Denim. What´s more, there´s a good cause behind it. A percentage of the earnings goes directly to The Royals Women´s Hospital Foundation based in Australia, hometown of the model. On their website the specify more by saying ..."A portion of the proceeds from this limited-edition capsule collection will benefit The Royal Women’s Hospital Foundation based in Australia. Each year the Royal Hospital for Women cares for more than 10,000 women, 600 premature babies and sends more than 4,200 babies home with their families and has been doing so for 150 years. The Foundation exists to ensure that all patients have the best possible treatment and equipment. 70% of the life-saving equipment in the hospital’s newborn intensive care unit has been purchased through donations. These vital funds help to save babies lives"...
Before talking about the collection itself, I must confess I´m a huge fan of Miranda´s off-duty looks, and have been for a while. From that experience, I´m sure she knows what jeans fit best and how to style them. Last January, she told Vogue that with the right pair of jeans you don´t need heels. Some tricks include wearing high waisted and cropped hems jeans that elongate your figure with flats or sneakers.
Let´s talk about those 12 pieces. They explore a variety of denim wash and styles. There´s a basic blue skinny jeans and a similar look in a lighter shade. But of course, there would be a flared and a mom jean. As regards the second one, the one I´m styling bellow, is a bit more distressed and has a few cuts on the knees. I particularly like it because it´s not strictly "mom", but it´s not slim as skinny pair. I hope that makes sense.
For the most adventurous ones, there´s a cut-out jumpsuit, that may not be for everyone, but it makes the collection varied and complete. Talking of complete, it wouldn´t be possible without this summer essentials: the cut-off shorts and the mini flare skirt. There tops as well, a few cotton white t-shirts with a few positive quotes, a sweatshirt in blue and a denim shirt with a butterfly embroidery.
I also want to highlight the little messages written inside the jeans. For example, the ones I got say "Hands off, they are mine". Cheeky! I've worn the jeans already and they are so comfortable. Mom jeans are so trendy right now, and I found this pair different because of the fit and the flexibility they give you. As Miranda said, they are high waisted and flatter your figure. What I'm trying to say is that I'm really happy with this purchase.
