for one reason or other, designers are moving their Fall/Winter 2017 shows to Los Angeles. I have a couple of theories that explain this phenomenon. 1- They want to be original, in the fashion world everything moves pretty quickly, and there's a need to be innovative in other to stay on the spotlight. 2- La La Land? The movie was so popular that it even attracted designers. 3- Weather! You know what they say, it's always sunny in LA town.
-Rebecca Minkoff (at the Grove)
The designer made the first fashion event of the season on an LA landmark, The Grove, The Spring collection was very simple, full of trends: off-the-shoulder, floral prints, bell sleeves and of course, neck scarfs! The day was an absolute day plan, with personalised food, special manicures, yoga classes and a fin meet and great with the designer at the end. Another characteristic of the show were the models, that included actress Victoria Justice, bloggers Song of Style and Chriselle Lim and a-line models as Coco Rocha and Pyper America Smith. What else can you wish for?
-Tommy Hilfiger with Gigi Hadid
Tommy Hilfiger, an American classic might have changed from coast, but the style remains the same. He always include something new to his collections, and this time it was the beach style and casualness of the west coast. What's more, Gigi Hadid, who designed her second capsule collection for the brand also showed it there. (read more about the collab here) . The fashion show, held at Venice Beach, was a show, but not just a catwalk, it included shopping, food and the best entertainment. To me, thre coolest Tommy show so far.
Besides, I want it all!!
