Met Gala 2014

Yesterday the Costume Institute Gala was held in New York and even though the aim is to fund raise money for the Metropolitan Museum of Art´s Costume Institute, we all considered to be the fashion industry´s most important event of the year. Anna Wintour, Vogue editor-in-chief selects the elite of invitees and the thematic dress code that this year happened to be Charles James : Beyond Fashion. This only mean lavish couture gowns, inspired on the 40´s and a white tie code (especially for men). Whats more, Michelle Obama unveiled the room where the ball took place.

Stella McCartney had her girls as well including Cara Delevigne, Kate Bosworth, Reese Witherspoon, Rihanna and the designer

In Givenchy we have Adriana Lima, Beyonce and Naomi Campbell.

Prada dressed Lupita Nyongo and Margot Robbie.

While Burberry dressed Suki Waterhouse and Lily Donaldson.

And yes Topshop said present through Kendall Jenner while Victoria Beckham wore her own design!

Both in black we had Georgia May Jagger in Thierry Mugler and Gisele Bundchen by Alexander Wang.

Black and white was also seen in Charlize Theron in Christian Dior and Hailee Steinfeld in Prabal Gurung.

Shining, as usual, we have Blake Lively in Gucci, Lily Aldrige in Michael Kors and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in a short dress by Balmain

In grey we spotted Alexa Chung in Nina Ricci and Karolina Kurkova in Marchesa.

And finally we have some colour, actually pink, in Emma Stone by Thakoon.

A lot of them didn´t respect the dress code, that was quite difficult to cope with but the ones who did looked stunning! Do you have a favourite?
