New York

New York, The Big Apple, The city that never sleeps, the capital of fashion and it goes on. It might be the buildings, the food, the weather or the shops - definitely the shops - that makes it so especial, but being there feels magical, and this time (it was my second time there) felt as good as last year!

I arrived on the 17th of March, a.k.a St Patrick´s Day, and as I went to an Irish school my whole life I couldn´t excuse myself from the wonderful parade that takes place along 5th avenue. Despite the extreme temperatures (as you can see on that picture of the frozen Central Park lake) I had a wonderful time full of memories from school.

My mom found her own building!
Mi mama y su edificio!

I also visited Washington DC and went to the most iconic places such as Lincoln Center and The White House.

As you can see by my face, I was very surprised by the snow.
Muy sorprendida por la nieve.

Back in New York I went on with the sightseeing...
De vuelta en NY, continuamos recorriendo...

Union Square, place of all weirdness... If we play finding wally, you may spot a man in just a pair of green underwear...

And of course I went to see my favourite play on Broadway and I absolutely recommend it!

In Soho you will find the best cupcakes store of the world under the name of Georgetown cupcakes. My mother got so starstruck that she bought that she even bought the book of recipes.

This dress is made of flowers. yes, a FLOWER DRESS!
Un vestido de FLORES en Macy´s.

As you can see from the last two pictures the weather can be either rainy or windy, but extremly cold! Be prepared! And don´t forget to take a lip balm unless you want to loose your lips.

I wanted to tell you that if you are going to New York you should definitely stay in a centric hotel as everything is near and you can go walking. Otherwise what you save in accommodation will go in commuting. I didn´t need to take the subway in any occasion as I could go walking to the Central Park, 5TH AV, and Times Sq., but went I went to the rest of the places I took a sightseeing bus (they are very practical as you get to know several places in short time) or a taxi ( a taxi from the centre to Soho will cost around $15).

I had to finish this post with the marvellous pic on New York at midnight...
